Made from Italian Leather Hide

Each Handmade to Measure Leather Belt will start life as an Italian Leather Hide. We only use imported Italian Leather Hide for all our Made to Measure Belts unless specified with the belt description. The thickness of the leather ranges between 3 to 5 millimetres depending on the hide purchased by BuckleMyBelt.com.

Hand Stripped for each Leather Belt

Once the Italian Leather Hide has been prepared it will be stripped down to the width of the belt being made by hand. The buckles we currently stock range from 1 Inch to 2 Inch with increments in-between. Once stripped each strap will be bevelled and edged in either black or brown edging dye.

Buckles secured by Hand

When the strap has been initially prepared the buckle chosen by the customer will be fixed at one end. Most buckles have a pin so a centre slot will be punched and the pin placed through it. All buckles are secured by rivets. Once the buckle has been secured the holes need to be punched from the external waist size provided by the customer when ordering. The holes will be measured from the pin to the centre hole for the external waist size, and there will be 5 in total with the centre one being the measurement given.

The belt is finished by tipping the end, and then it’s passed over to quality control. All leather belts are inspected and treated with leather conditioner.
